EasyScan Remote Review and Connectivity Options
The EasyScan SW can set up in a number of different ways to allow the images to be reviewed at a different location then where the camera is set up.
It is also possible for the SW to interface with Hospital information Systems, Patient management systems and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
The 3 different setups are shown below.
Reach out to EasyScan or your local distributor for more information.
Sharing EasyScan database over Local Network
The EasyScan SW can be setup to allow sharing of the database across a local area network (LAN). This will allow the images to be reviewed, annotated and printed etc from another PC then where images are being taken. This setup is ideal for small doctor offices or in optical retail setting.
This can be done by simply sharing directory that contains the EasyScan Database over the Local Network and installing additional copies of the SW on the PC’s that will act as the review stations.
Syncing the EasyScan database to a remote location.
To allow reviewing of the EasyScan images outside of the local Network with the native EasyScan Review SW the database can by Synced via a cloud service (for example Sync.com). To ensure to compliance with local rules and regulations it is important to carefully review the selected service and ensure that the correct (contractual) arrangements are made. This setup works well in situation where there are one or more EasyScan capture station placed in different, remote, locations and a central location is used to review the images. Network latency and stability will prevent direct sharing of the database between Capture and review stations.
In this setup, each EasyScan capture station automatically exports any images in a special format to a directory on its Hard Drive that is then synced with the cloud storage provider. At the reading location these directories are also synced to the local system, as a small piece of SW is running in the background that will look for new files and combine those a place them into the EasyScan database. Once setup the syncing occurs fully automatic without any user interaction needed. This allows the data to be reviewed with the native EasyScan SW resulting in a much better user experience and workflow.
Connecting EasyScan to DICOM WL and PACS Server
In a hospital setting, the EasyScan can be connected with a DICOM Worklist (WL) Server, to automatically pull the scheduled patients into the EasyScan SW. This removes the need to re-enter the patient data in the EasyScan SW. After the patient has been imaged the images can also be automatically be uploaded to the Picture and Communication Server (PACS) for review and storage. This setup is ideal in larger hospital settings, but will require additional SW and License to operate.
In this setup the patient data is pulled directly from HIS and images are shared automatically with the PACS. Reviewing of the data can either be done with a PACS viewer or in the EasyScan SW on the capture station.
